Genes Vettes is "making green cool" at the 2008 SEMA show.

SEMA's Premier Green Is Cool booth; Genes Vettes with STS Turbo and Blade Chevrolet were awarded special recognition and a prestigious booth location in Wednesday’s media coverage of the SEMA Green Is Cool display.

The SEMA show hosted their first Green Is Cool awards this year to highlight and recognize outstanding efforts from the auto community focusing on improving our carbon footprint.

The display was located in the Las Vegas Convention Center’s South Hall and included a number of hybrid, E85, bio-diesel, and one turbo powered vehicle. The 2008 black C6 twin turbo Corvette drew crowds.

In other SEMA news; STS Turbo was awarded the 2008 Prototype Category award for their Turbocharger and DiabloSport Predator flash programmer. STS Turbo received special recognition by improving fuel economy by 4.6% on a 4.6L V8 2008 Ford F-150.

The TT Corvette stood out as it was sandwiched between two Prius hybrid vehicles, one claiming 100+ MPG. The buzz around the booth was how the specifically engineered STS Turbo remote mounted twin turbo system enables the vehicle to increase the Corvettes MPG to 32/40 with zero lag.

The majority of vehicles were prototypes and, with few exceptions, only Gene Vettes’ turbocharged vette is available to the public at this time.
